Prolégo Consulting Solutions, a program management subsidiary of Satterfield & Pontikes Construction, is proud to announce that it has been awarded a prestigious contract by Southwest Airlines (SWA) to construct a new General Use Building (GUB) at William P. Hobby Airport.
As the Program Manager, Prolégo will assist in the procurement of a CMR contractor, provide design oversight to the A/E firm, provide Proactive Design Analysis and reporting services, coordinate with stakeholders, deliver document control and pre-construction services, provide administrative and fieldbased services during the construction and close-out phases of the project.
“Prolégo is honored to have been chosen for this significant project with Southwest Airlines,” says Matt Daniel, Prolégo Corporate Vice President & General Manager. “We look forward to working collaboratively with our partners and stakeholders to bring this vision to life, enhancing the efficiency and capabilities of the airport for years to come.”
The new General Use Building (GUB) will be strategically located on the eastern boundary of the airport. This state-of-the-art facility will house six key departments: Cargo, Provisioning, Ground Support Equipment (GSE), Facility Maintenance, Tech Ops, and SWA-U, with each department operating independently while sharing essential support spaces such as restrooms, locker rooms, break areas, conference rooms, and building support rooms.
To enable the GUB construction, Prolégo will oversee the demolition of the existing SWA Hangar on the new GUB site, and construction of a new 20,000 SQF storage facility to maintain SWA operations.
