PROLÉGO WELCOMES ROY SPRAGUE AS SENIOR VICE PRESIDENT

Roy J. Sprague, Jr., AIA, NCARB, CSI, ALEP, LE Fellow has joined Prolégo Consulting Solutions as Senior Vice President. Prolégo is a Houston-based program management company and wholly owned subsidiary of Satterfield & Pontikes Construction. In this role, Sprague will lead and further develop Prolégo’s K-12 education sector. 

 Sprague brings 42 years of experience in architecture, construction and facilities management to Prolégo. For the past 32 years, he has been focused in the public education sector. His distinguished tenure includes 26 years of leadership at Texas’ third largest school district, Cypress-Fairbanks ISD (CFISD). Sprague recently retired as CFISD’s Chief Operations Officer, where he led eight divisions with more than 3,500 employees that service facilities planning, construction, maintenance, custodial, energy management, nutritional service, transportation, purchasing and real estate acquisitions.

 While at CFISD, Sprague oversaw the design and construction of 73 schools and support facilities encompassing elementary, middle and high schools as well as special assignment campuses. He has helped deliver more than 300+ educational projects and managed the successful completion of six K-12 Bond Programs totaling more than $5.2 billion of new and renovated educational facilities.

Sprague earned his Bachelor of Architecture from Louisiana State University. He is a registered architect and interior designer in the State of Texas certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards. He is also an Accredited Learning Environment Professional (ALEP). 

He is a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Construction Specification Institute (CSI) and the Association for Learning Environments (A4LE). Sprague currently serves on the National Board of Directors for the Institute for Leadership in Capital Projects (I-LinCP), the Collaborative of High-Performance Schools (CHPS) as Vice Chairman, Joint Committee of AGC Houston/A4LE Gulf Coast Chapter for Recommended Practices as Co-Chairman and is on the Board of Directors for the CFISD Educational Foundation. 

Sprague’s awards and honors include the Southern Region Planner of the Year and International Planner of the Year finalist from the Council of Educational Facilities Planners (CEFPI) as well as being among the 75 influential honorees from the CFISD Community for significant positive contributions made influencing the students, schools and the community.  He was recently selected by the CFISD Board as the namesake for Roy Sprague, Jr. Middle School.
